Governing Body Structure
The Governing Body is structured in accordance with Statutory Guidance from the Department for Education. In June 2015, the governors carried out a restructuring of the Governing Body to enable the appointment of more people on the basis of the skills that they could bring. As a result of the restructuring, a new Instrument of Governance was agreed.
The Governing Body comprises:
1 Executive Headteacher
1 Staff governor
3 Foundation governors
3 Parent governors
9 Co-opted governors
1 Local Authority governor
The standard Term of Office for governors is four years. Our Governing Body also has Associate Members. Associate Members are not governors and do not have a vote at Full Governing Body meetings but they are entitled to attend Full Governing Body meetings and to receive the papers for them. Our Associate Members are invited to participate in specific committees relevant to the particular skills that they bring and are usually given the right to vote on some or all matters raised at those committee meetings.
The Governing Body also has a Clerk.
