🚀 National Space Week at Loxley Primary School 🌌

This week, Loxley Primary School launched into National Space Week with a blast of excitement, curiosity, and cosmic learning!

We kicked things off with a fantastic visit from the Stratford Astronomical Society, who brought the wonders of the solar system right into our school hall. Pupils were amazed as they learned how to use real telescopes, explored planets and moons, and even got to see a model of Galileo’s original telescope—a true piece of astronomical history!

Throughout the week, our classrooms transformed into space labs. Children have been investigating what life is like in space, conducting scientific experiments to simulate space conditions, and even had the chance to ask Tim Peake (well, an AI version!) questions about his life aboard the International Space Station.

The highlight of the week was a whole-school trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester! Pupils explored interactive galleries, launched virtual rockets, walked through a replica of the ISS, and experienced the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium. From touching real meteorites to designing their own space missions, every child had the chance to be a scientist, engineer, and explorer.

As we wrap up this stellar week, we’re proud to say that Loxley Primary is full of future astronauts, engineers, and space scientists. National Space Week has truly inspired our pupils to look up, dream big, and reach for the stars.

Watch this space, our explorers of tomorrow are already on their way! 🌠

BBC CWR

What an incredible morning for our Loxley CofE Primary School children! Two of our talented pupils had the amazing opportunity to feature on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire radio today. They showed off their fantastic presenting skills and confidence, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements.
If you missed the broadcast, you can catch up on the BBC website. Congratulations again to our budding broadcasters - you're shining stars!
