VE Day Celebrations
Loxley CofE Primary School was a hive of creativity and learning during our VE Day celebrations. Our children showcased their artistic talents by designing their own medals and decorations, each one unique and special.
Seeing the children's faces light up as they learned about the 1940s and the importance of VE Day was truly heartwarming. They danced with such joy, played games with infectious energy, and shared in the camaraderie of the era through our delightful tea party.
We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate this significant moment in history with our Loxley CofE Primary School community. The sacrifices made during World War II will never be forgotten, and we are proud to have instilled a deeper appreciation for this important time in our children.
150 Years of Loxley School

Our New Logo

The children and staff at Loxley C of E Community Primary School have taken the opportunity, in our 150th year, to update our school logo to refresh the image that represents our amazing school.

The School Council presented the whole school with several options and everyone voted for their favourite.

We love the simplicity of the design and how it encapsulates our mission for individuals to flourish at our school, which is firmly rooted and surrounded by faith and the love of the church. Thank you so much to Ed Tyler, who designed the new logo and patiently listened to our ideas and came up with so many fabulous options to choose from.

How does our new logo represent our school and our values?

Here are some of the children’s explanations of the meanings behind our new logo.

  • There are 3 branches which represents our 3 classes. Joshua
  • All the leaves are like the children coming together to make up our school and they are flourishing. Lily
  • The shape has got the cross on it and we are a Church of England school. Cristian
  • The leaves represent each individual person. Quinn
Loxley's 150th Anniversary

We had the most wonderful celebration at Loxley Primary School on Friday 14 June, as the school and the wider community celebrated its 150th birthday.

Pupils, staff and parents through the years, gathered together in the school playground, to enjoy songs, poetry, drama and dance from the current pupils. A beautiful cake was cut by three of the many Heads the school has had over the years, and the school was open for everyone to take a tour and see how the school has changed. There were stalls, games, ice cream and a gallery of work and photographs for visitors to enjoy.

It was fantastic to hear people’s recollections of their time in the school and so lovely to see staff catching up with their past pupils and hearing about what they have been up to. The local community shared their photographs and memories as the children created a play based on information gleaned from the school log-books about the arrival of evacuees in the village and school.

Each visitor to the school took part in creating a piece of tile art depicting our new logo, which will be displayed to mark the momentous occasion. They also wrote in our visitor’s book, which will be proudly kept to remember this wonderful afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, making it a really wonderful and celebratory occasion.

Circus Skills

We had a lot of fun learning a range of circus skills. Perseverance was the order of the day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Bacon Butty Breakfast

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our fabulous breakfast event last Friday. It was so lovely to be able to welcome so many of you into school to share a delicious breakfast and the children have told me just how much they enjoyed it.

A HUGE thank you goes to Mrs Elton and Mrs Land for not only buying the food, but cooking it AND clearing everything up. Thanks also to you all for supporting the event.

An enormous £81.64 was made on the morning!!

We LOVE Forest School!

The children absolutely love going to Forest School, and it's not hard to see why. This term they have experienced a huge variety of activities from whittling to painting bread and toasting it on a fire, planting wild flowers, creating poppies for remembrance and making bird-feeders to earn their Blue Peter badge. Thanks must go to Mrs Ballantine for her tireless work and imaginative ideas.
